Welcoming Canada to Northern BC
February / March 2015
Prince George, BC
PRP was pleased to produce the Ceremonies of the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George, British Columbia. The Opening Ceremony welcomed the athletes in spectacular fashion with a show celebrating a Northern story, inviting all to “Journey With Us”. Inspired by the host city’s unique location, considered a “hub” at the crossroads of many major paths, the show celebrated the different journeys athletes, spectators and visitors took to be a part of the Games.
Set outdoors at the stunning Agora Plaza at the University of Northern British Columbia, the nationally televised Closing Ceremony was a grand finale to the two-week long competition. The Ceremony celebrated a modern Prince George and the lasting legacy of the 2015 Canada Winter Games, as the athletes, volunteers and spectators of the Games “Leave Their Tracks” in the Host City. Both Ceremonies prominently featured the Lheidli T’enneh, Official Host First Nation, and Northern-BC talent, including Bright City Heights, Cody Karey, Jerusha White, Black Spruce Bog and over 350 local Prince George performers.
