The 2017 Canada Games in Winnipeg marked Canada 150 coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Games. PRP put on a spectacular show to mark the occasion, celebrating the achievements of Canada’s incredible young athletes.
The Opening Ceremony, taking place at the Bell MTS Place, featured amazing Canadian musical headliners including Serena Ryder, Coeur de Pirate and Winnipeg’s own The Bros. Landreth. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made an appearance, along with performers ranging in age from nine to 89. The evening also saw Winnipeg’s famous Golden Boy statue, who stands atop the Manitoba Legislative Building, come to life in a breathtaking original production number.
Investors Group Field was transformed into a grand summer party for the Closing Ceremony, with musical performances from Sierra Noble, Fred Penner and Brett Kissel. The Ceremony celebrated the 17 days of amazing competition, and passed the torch to the 2019 Canada Games in Red Deer, Alberta.
