It was a busy month of sport for PRP with not one, not two but three events between Thursday, June 23rd and Sunday, June 26th! PRP produced the Pre-Game Ceremony of the Season Home Opener for the Toronto Argonauts as well as the Halftime show Major League Soccer’s Cali Clasico and provided sport production and game presentation to the second of two Canada Rugby matches in June.
Toronto Argonauts Season Home Opener Pre-Game Ceremony
PRP was proud to be a part of the team for the Toronto Argonauts Season Home Opener on June 23rd producing the Pre-Game Ceremony for the historic match. Truly an event of #NewBeginnings, this was the Argos’ inaugural game at the newly renovated BMO Field, celebrated with a huge on-field spectacle that included a mass choreographed dance team of over two hundred performers; the Argos Cheer team; and a three hundred and fifty piece marching Band. This was also the first time the new version of the Canadian anthem was sung on live broadcast at a major sport event, performed by Canadian music artist and Hedley lead singer, Jacob Hoggard. The Royal Regiment of Canada and the 48th Highland Regiment flag party and honour guard joined on-field during the anthem and a flyover from a Royal Canadian Airforce CC 130 Hercules aircraft made this a truly memorable event. This game also offered the debut of the Argo canon, ready to pump up the already-excited fans in attendance and set to remain a staple at all Argo’s home games moving forward. Thank you to the team at Toronto Argonauts for having us be part of this historic event!
Cali Clasico Halftime Show
PRP was in California last weekend to take on Halftime show production for the Cali Clasico on Saturday, June 25th. Taking place in Stanford Stadium, the event was the annual Major League Soccer face-off between the San Jose Earthquakes and Los Angeles Galaxy teams. With a “Salute the Troops” theme, the Halftime show was a brilliant spectacle that celebrated all divisions of the armed forces including the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy. Representatives of each branch were honoured and a huge on-field branded fabric piece was proudly displayed for each division. Patriotic bow banners flew and a massive card stunt stunned the crowds in attendance, thanking the US Armed Forces and revealing a massive US flag image that covered half the stands. PRP was proud to be part of this event!
