PRP was proud to produce the Closing Ceremony of the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George on March 1st. Set outdoors at the stunning Agora Plaza at the University of Northern British Columbia, the nationally televised Closing Ceremony was the grand finale to a two-week long competition. The Ceremony celebrated a modern Prince George and the lasting legacy of the 2015 Canada Winter Games, as the athletes, volunteers and spectators of the Games “Leave Their Tracks” in the Host City.

Highlights of the Ceremony included the vocal talents of Jerusha White and a unique cauldron lighting, as two members of the Host First Nation, the Lheidli T’enneh, ignited the cauldron with a torch lit from a traditional Pit House. Northern-BC native and tenor vocalist Cody Karey amazed spectators and viewers alike with his performance of “You Are the Song” in a touching segment highlighting the work of dedicated Games’ volunteers. To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Prince George, a choral group of 100 singers performed O Canada under the direction of Kevin Zakresky and Mr. P.G., an iconic symbol of Prince George, made a surprise appearance. Key speakers included the Governor General of Canada, the Honourable David Johnston, and Chair of the 2015 Canada Winter Games Host Society, Anthony Everett.

The Ceremony concluded with a tribute to athletes of future Canada Games, as extreme ice carvers carved the logo of the 2017 Canada Games live on stage and fireworks lit up the sky. PRP conceived and produced all Ceremony show elements including design, choreography, lighting and staging, overall production and integration with television.
