With the world's focus turned to Canada, PRP worked closely with Canada Soccer to kick off 30 days of incredible competition by celebrating the empowerment and unification of women.
THE GOAL
The vision for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 Opening Ceremony centered on the values of ambition, inspiration, honour, victory, celebration and pride; PRP sought to help bring these themes to life by demonstrating the positive impact of the sport both on and off the field, highlighting the lasting legacy and global impact of a competition featuring successful and empowering women from around the world
THE APPROACH
PRP crafted a story told through the eyes of a young, female soccer player and her journey to empowerment through sport; from her first soccer practice to meeting inspirational female medalists and role models in sport. The show was marked with incredible headline performances from Sarah McLachlan and Tegan and Sara; they were joined by over 200 dancers flooding the field of the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton in a stunning production number, complete with spectacular pyrotechnics and the performance of an original song, “Stand With Us”.
