It’s been a year and a half like no other. Since the spring of 2020, we have seen our industry come to a crashing halt, re-group, and fight its way back with a little resourcefulness and a lot of imagination. The ingenuity of our event colleagues continues to amaze and inspire us.

Adjusting to pandemic mandates, sourcing top technological solutions and figuring out how best to maximize guest experience, PRP has worked tirelessly to adapt and specialize in this new virtual event world. Just a few of the virtual events we have worked on over the last twenty months include the VSO Virtual Concert Gala, Gift of Love and Gift of Time Galas, Skills Canada National Competition Closing Ceremony, Daffodil Ball 25 in support of the Canadian Cancer Society, the Governor’s Gala and Rix Awards and the Illuminate Gala and Auction.

While we’re proud to remain an industry leader in this era of online, virtual experiences, we are also thrilled with the increasing return of large, indoor gatherings and events. Recently, PRP produced two hybrid events: both live, in-person galas with virtual components for guests at home.

The Art Umbrella’s Splash Art Auction and Gala was a glamourous evening, held in-person at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Featuring fabulous entertainment, student performances and a spectacular live auction, the event was broadcast live and raised $1.5 million in support of arts education for children and youth.

The 17th Annual Gift of Time Gala was a hybrid live and virtual event which saw over 400 in-person guests in attendance. PRP has been honoured to help build these signature galas for the past eight years. In addition to overseeing the live show’s development and execution, PRP sourced top-grade virtual solutions, ensuring a high-end experience for both at-home and in-person guests. This year’s Gift of Time Gala raised over $1 million in support of palliative paediatric care at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.

And the ingenuity doesn’t stop with virtual events…

We are pleased to be a part of the return of WinterLights, a magical holiday drive-thru experience at the PNE. From the warmth and safety of their own cars, guests will be transported through lands of glowing lights and festive performers. PRP will once again oversee production management, creative and technical direction, casting and project management. And next month, PRP will be on-site in Hamilton, Ontario producing the CFL’s 108th Grey Cup Halftime Show, featuring the Arkells.

2022 is gearing up to be a fantastic year and we are looking forward to the challenge and fun ahead!
