On Sunday, March 22nd, PRP was proud be a part of a historic night for the San Jose Earthquakes, as they celebrated the grand opening of the brand new Avaya Stadium. Designed specifically for soccer, the new $100 million home of the MLS’ Earthquakes debuted with a sell-out crowd of 18,000 for the inaugural match between the San Jose Earthquakes and the Chicago Fire. PRP was proud to produce the Opening Ceremony, which featured VIPs and dignitaries, including the President of the San Jose Earthquakes, Dave Kaval and the Mayor of San Jose, Sam Liccardo; the event also celebrated the completion of the Great Soccer Ball Relay, which began its journey on January 7th and ended at the stadium with the help of San Jose Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, Paul Child and two-time winner of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Brandi Chastain. The Earthquakes’ Krazy George erupted out of a custom-designed giant drum, two massive scarf-branded flags were unveiled on-field and the talented Marlie Collins performed “Do You Know the Way to San Jose” to complete the kick-off. Congratulations to Dave Kaval and the San Jose Earthquakes team on your new stadium! We were proud to be a part of the celebration.
