Last week, it was announced that the Gift of Time Gala raised over $1 million in support of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, $100,000 more than the previous year. Providing palliative care to 450 children and families across British Columbia, generous donors invested in respite care, medication and operating costs to provide care at two BC locations: Vancouver and Abbotsford. Featuring Global TV’s Chris Gailus as MC and Michael Kaeshammer as musical host, highlights included a single live auction item raising $190,000, a standout performance by 8-year old Elias Tyson Venegas and a moving story from Family Speaker Sadie Lourenco, who’s twin sister received end-of-life care at Canuck Place.
