Canadian Museum of History Canadian History Hall Opening

Canada's story - like you've never seen it before.

In honour of Canada's 150th Anniversary of Confederation, the Canadian Museum of History unveiled a brand-new signature exhibit - the Canadian History Hall.

THE GOAL

PRP was asked to conceptualize and deliver a spectacular opening event that would solidify the Museum – an established landmark in the Gatineau / Ottawa area – as a prime location in Canada’s capital for both nationwide media broadcasts and national celebration events.

THE APPROACH

PRP sought to not only showcase the event capabilities of the Canadian Museum of History’s grand and beautiful space, but also to honour Canada’s diverse and rich culture. The inauguration of the Canadian History Hall featured performances from a variety of community and cultural groups from the Ontario region, along with iconic Canadiana performers – including two 10-foot tall dancing Canada geese. The event hosted Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, inviting them to perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony. As a result, the opening of the Canadian History Hall bolstered the Museum’s reputation as a national cultural institution.
